Tonight we kicked off the mirror-universe plot on Agincourt. This thing has been in the works for over a year now (it was conceived sometime last June, fleshed out over the summer, and has been tweaked ever since). I was, to put it lightly, a nervous wreck as showtime approached. I just had visions of the whole thing going to pieces on me. A not entirely fantastical vision, either, since another ship on the forum ran a mirror plot that did collapse under its own weight. Of course, they hadn't been planning it for nearly as long.

But... Oh. My. God. Everyone was just so fantastic! And there was this synergy going, that just kept ramping the roleplay level up and up and up... I was finding myself feeling tame and lame, by comparison. *grin* And the politics... wow, we have an amazing group. I lost track of all the alliances and conflicts going on; they kept shifting every time you looked at them. People are definitely playing all sides against the middle, and I'm not sure anyone knows who's on which side, or where the middle is... Just wow.

I can't wait to read the logs. ^_^

The Forum Leader called me yesterday to find out what I wanted to do about this idea of a short leave and return to the status quo. In summary, the conversation went like this:

Forum Leader: I don't want you to feel pressured to take on extra work...
Me: I'm doing all the work already.
FL: I really want this to be fun for you. I don't want you to burn out and leave. I want you to be happy.
Me: I will be extremely unhappy if he stays.
FL: We'll tell him he can't come back to the ship, then.

Ex-cohost wrote his farewell log today. He also wrote a highly egotistical, sanctimonious 'passing the torch' sort of letter to the crew. It's already making the rounds of the forum as a fwd, and people keep IMing me to giggle over it. Not the effect I think he was going for... Not that I care. ^_^

So, that last entry? I think it was option two. (Though I haven't yet discounted the cookie theory.)

I just got an email from my soon-to-be-ex-cohost, in which he makes "a proposal to retract the LOA."

Me: Like. Hell. *throws things*

Now for a reply I can send. Hmm...

Yesterday I got some very, very good news.

The person I co-Gamemaster with on a PBmb RPG... resigned. Joy and rapture! The forum leader persuaded him to take six months off rather than resigning, but as long as I have a partner for my game in six months, I won't have to deal with him again.

You have to understand -- this is the person who has been making my hobby frustrating and stressful for about eight months now. This is the person who virtually ignores every email I send him. Including one about our annual writing award, which he didn't bother to look at for nearly a month, after I'd gone to the trouble of doing the hard part (the initial cut -- 10 posts out of 5 months worth). Including a rough draft of a new campaign that I sent to him with a request for commentary, critique, and fleshing out, way back on April 20th, and which to this day I have not heard a word about.

Then a week ago he had the almighty nerve to send me an email telling me he felt I was "freezing him out" and that I "wasn't open to criticism." I'm sorry, has the English language changed while I wasn't looking? What part of "please let me know what you think -- I really want some help getting this into a solid, fleshed out form. Grab any section you like to work on first; the order doesn't matter" means 'we're doing things my way, don't complain'?

He's leaving. There is a god, and she loves me. ^_^

I just got caught up on three to four weeks of backlog on Agincourt-related paperwork. Updated the website, including two brand-new pages, wrote up the mission summaries, posted the word of the week polls, completed my records of crew logs, and made the first pass through for the writing award.

Now, to reaffirm the vow I made last time I got this far behind: I will do things in a timely fashion. I will do them in small bites that take five minutes, rather than waiting until they pile up and take all day. I will, I will, I will...
