More 13-day hiatus updates.
Jun. 17th, 2004 07:15 pmIn other news, renovations of the 'suite' I'm taking over here at home are going pretty well. I've almost finished stripping the wallpaper in one of the two rooms, and made a start on the other. (Why not finish the first? Well, there's this muddle of cables and A/V stuff against the wall...) Paint colors are chosen, so as soon as the wallpaper comes down and the walls are spackled and sanded, I can get down to painting. And then rearranging/adding furniture, and then, finally unpacking completely so I can stop living out of boxes. I have a deep fear I'll get all this done only to move out, but, well, things being what they are in the job market...
Besides, the wallpaper was ugly and older than I am.
I'm feeling creative. Or, more accurately, I'm feeling like I'd like to be creative, but no inspiration is presenting itself. I keep picking up pen, or keyboard, or sketchbook, and... nothing. A few doodles that aren't much more than random scribbles. A few hard-fought words tacked on to a story I've been working on for ages. But I really, really want to do something... just not sure what.
On a sad note, on Tuesday my cat died. She was 15 and she didn't seem to be suffering in any way -- except that she was feeling rather crotchety, but what nearly-centenarian isn't entitled to be a bit crotchety, right? Still, it was very hard for me; I've had her since I was seven. (incidentally, that's not her in my lj icon; she was a grey and black tabby)
